“Life is but a Dream”
For the month of February, we are featuring the work of two new member artists – Cindia Carlson and Lew Lunbeck. The exhibit will run February 1-28, 2022, with a First Friday reception on Friday, February 4, 6 to 9 p.m.

Cindia Carlson’s color palette has become part of her signature style. The organization and contrast of figure in landscape and lyrical-Arabesque line, lend to the uniqueness of her work. Personal motifs represent the content of prophetic dream narratives or back stories. Portraiture-to-mask and multimedia sculptures also hold special interest for her. Cindia is a Nebraska native, book author, and college professor with a long list of exhibitions and achievements.

Lew Lunbeck finds his art to possess different facets of emotion that life gives to the viewer. Through his post-impressionistic style, he's tried to achieve this by using color composition and a playful perspective. His sense of this style developed when he was traveling as a vagabond. Lew's earlier paintings depicted mostly jazz music-inspired feelings, but have evolved into more “slice of life” themes. Lew has been creating in this style since 2016, and has accumulated over 30 paintings and a few sculptures.
