For the month of April, we are featuring the work of two new member artists – Ann O'Hara and John Stillmunks. The exhibit will run March 28 – May 1, 2022, with an opening reception on Friday, April 1, 6 to 9 p.m.

Ann Ohara believes that artists are born, not made. What the artist does with that gift depends on his or her ability to accept this truth. She began drawing as soon as she had her own box of crayons and has continued making art her entire life. The pastels you see in this show are all her own experiences–times that she was moved to capture a moment. Every piece in this show reflects a moment in time that was special to her.

After more than 40 years of painting, John Stillmunks has recently focused his attention on sculpture as opposed to two-dimensional work. He uses found objects, paint, and the element of "chance" to create three-dimensional paintings. Switching to sculpture from painting has been liberating to him as an artist as he continues to pursue the concept of "schadenfreude"–an examination of the misfortune of others.
