"Unique Traces" Exhibition

  • Artists' Cooperative Gallery 405 South 11th Street Omaha, NE 68102 United States (map)

During the month of October, the Artists' Cooperative Gallery will feature the work of longtime member artists Dar Vandevoort and George Skuodas. The show runs October 2 – 29, 2023. Please join us at the opening reception on Friday, October 6, 6 to 9 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

Dar's work for this show varies, as her life continues to do the same. Different mediums, subject matter, seasons, all come together to showcase transformations throughout her days. She truly enjoys this journey.

George is focused on creating three-dimensional metal sculptures made from re-purposed metal objects. The robots are assembled with rivets, small nuts, bolts and sometimes epoxy cement. The outdoor sculptures are larger, heavier and require more intensive assembly such as welding to hold up to the elements. The largest issue in creating these items is hunting for bits and pieces that are no longer made.

The Artists' Cooperative Gallery has been showing work from respected area artists since 1975. Members conduct educational and cultural outreach activities, and maintain and staff the gallery. The space features a wide variety of media, including sculpture, weaving, painting, jewelry, ceramics, photography and drawing. These openings provide the public with an opportunity to meet our members and learn more about their art.

Our hours are...Tuesday 11am-5pm, Wednesday-Thursday 11am-8pm, Friday-Saturday from 11am-10pm, and Sundays 11am-5pm.
