During the month of October, the Artists' Cooperative Gallery will be featuring the artwork of member artists Nicki Byram, Inna Kulgina and Jackson Gatzemeyer. The exhibit, “Artistic Sagas”, will be on display from Tuesday, September 29 to Sunday, November 1. Please join us at the opening reception on Friday, October 2, 6 to 9 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

Nicki's series is a light-hearted look at some of the King Arthur characters, as she imagines them, from 5-6th century Britain.The first of the Saga was made famous by Geoffrey of Monmouth in the 12th century. From then to the present day, his story has grown, changed, acted out and painted.
 

Inna's art is the cornucopia of color – the exploration of how the light reflects from the surfaces of the objects, creating the colorful abundance of the visual world. It is like playing chess – first by putting the brush stroke down as she sees it, then keeping the color balance dictated by nature as she applies another one.

Jackson is enamored with faces, all the abstract expressions a face can make, and what emotions he can try to convey or express through creating faces. He has learned what attracts him and what doesn’t with sculpture, through working for and learning from Les Bruning at the Hot Shops. He likes to just have fun and be loose when creating and try not to take himself too seriously.
