" Then and Now" Exhibition

  • Artists' Cooperative Gallery 405 South 11th Street Omaha, NE 68102 United States (map)

Tuesday, October 31 - Sunday, November 26

During the month of November, the Artists' Cooperative Gallery will feature the work of longtime member artists Robert Dewaele, Pam King, and Nicki Byram. The show runs from October 31 to November 26, 2023. Please join us at the opening reception on Friday, November 3, 6 to 9 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

Robert began his career at the Coop in 1998. His work consists of both wood carving and bronze casting. Sometimes the sculptures are comprised of wood only, bronze only or a combination of wood and bronze. He sees his work as a vicarious way of communicating with others, freeing himself from the burden of socializing and communicating directly.

Pam joined the Coop in 1989, creating “photograms” of Anasazi pictographs, using a Polaroid printing process. She then found her niche making jewelry from stones echoing the part of the country she loves.

Nicki is an “intuitive abstract artist”, which means that her paintings are unplanned, often coming from a meditative state. She came to the Coop in 1992. Many of her present paintings depict our unsettled world, others just whimsy.

The Artists' Cooperative Gallery has been showing work from respected area artists since 1975. Members conduct educational and cultural outreach activities, and maintain and staff the gallery. The space features a wide variety of media, including sculpture, weaving, painting, jewelry, ceramics, photography and drawing. These openings provide the public with an opportunity to meet our members and learn more about their art.

Our hours are...Tuesday 11am-5pm, Wednesday-Thursday 11am-8pm, Friday-Saturday from 11am-10pm, and Sundays 11am-5pm.
