September Feature Exhibition
During the month of September, the Artists Cooperative Gallery will feature the work of two longtime member artists - Dottie Seymour and Glenda Larson Musilek. The show runs August 30 – October 2, 2022. A special artist Meet & Greet will occur Sunday, September 4, 1 to 3 p.m., and will also showcase the music of violinist Jennifer Christensen. Free on-street parking will be available.
The theme for Dottie's work is morning skies. She paints in cold wax and oil on wood substrates for the majority of her pieces, along with a few abstracts in acrylic on canvas. She enjoys her morning coffee while viewing some fantastic sunrises, and after several weeks gazing from her kitchen window at nature’s beauty, she decided it would be a great theme for this featured show.
Glenda has created a body of abstract art and representational paintings, mostly utilizing either acrylic or oil paint to meet her creative purpose. Her theme for this show is based on our journey to maintain a free democracy, to live a free life, and to experience the joy and exuberance of following our dreams. The horses are a metaphor of living this life, and the abstracts represent the feelings of living freely.
In addition to our two feature artists, we will also be displaying work by current University of Nebraska-Omaha art students in our first UNO Art Club Showcase. Organized in conjunction with the UNO Art Club, the showcase features paintings, drawings, prints, and other two-dimensional artwork on display in our small gallery.
