“RESURGENT”
During the month of May, the Artists Cooperative Gallery will feature the work of two member artists – Duane Adams and Kevin McClay. The show runs from Tuesday, May 2 – Sunday, May 28. Please join us at the opening reception on Friday, May 5th, 6 to 9 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
Duane Adams’ work features Fine art pottery made using the slab method with image transfers, which pays homage to artists throughout the ages.
Functional pottery -Agateware — is hand made colored clays that are thrown on the potter’s wheel, which results in an arbitrary color mixture.
Colored pencil drawings of Southwestern Iowa landscapes.
Kevin McClay’s work is an exploration of texture and topography. Using wood as his primary medium, the organic material is altered through the use of modern tools and traditional techniques. The main themes of his work explore the juxtaposition of sterile and weathered, and the tension between organic and manufactured environments.
His aesthetic is informed by architectural influences, both the clean lines of modern design, as well as more ornate historic structures. The shapes and elevations point to the built environment and are inspired by aerial views of the urban footprint.
Our hours are...Tuesday 11am-5pm, Wednesday-Thursday 11am-8pm, Friday-Saturday from 11am-10pm, and Sundays 11am-5pm.
